FAIRWAY DRAINAGE

Fairway drainage is basically set up the same as our greens drainage. It begins by putting the fairway on a 20’ grid and using a transit to determine the high and low places in the fairway.
Once it is graphed on grid paper, we choose the best layout of our system. Our fairway systems are set up on 10’ spacing. We begin the construction by cutting the sod and laying plywood on areas that cannot handle the traffic of our equipment. We then begin to trench the lines averaging 16” deep. As our equipment trenches the lines it also shoots the dirt out of a conveyor belt cutting time and labor in half. Once the lines are trenched they are checked using our laser to ensure the lines have gravity flow. Pipe is then installed at the bottom of our trenches and the trenches are backfilled using a 3 phase tamping method with our equipment. Sod is placed back in its original location and the fairway is ready for play.
